Hello, world (with a game this time)

Why my personal site has a hype slider, a ticket-shipping game and a terminal, and what I plan to write about here.

#meta

Every engineer’s personal site eventually turns into a CV with a gradient. I wanted mine to show how I actually think about work, so a few things on the homepage are interactive.

The things you can poke

  • The hype slider. Drag it from Modest to Conductor and my bio rewrites itself as it goes. Notch two is the honest one.
  • The swarm. The little arrows in the hero are agents. Click empty space to file an incident and watch them close it. That’s roughly how firefighting works for me now: agents do the digging, and I review the fix.
  • Ship it. My day on the tech side of operations as a 15-second game. Bugs, features and incidents come in. You plan, let the agents build, review everything and ship, before ops starts escalating.
  • The terminal. Press / anywhere. Try help, then sudo hire mohammed.

What I’ll write about

I’ll post occasionally, mostly about:

  1. Backend and serverless systems on AWS, and what breaks at the edges
  2. Data migrations that don’t page anyone
  3. Working with AI agents without giving up ownership: planning, orchestration and review

Agents write a lot of my code. I’m still the engineer: I own the plan, the review and the result.

More soon.
